高さ186m、日本一高いダム。川底の削剥を防ぐため、霧状にして放水する。ダムカードは、黒部ダムレストハウス売店（7:30～16:50、11/4以降8:30～15:50）・扇沢売店（8:30～18:00、11/4以降9:30～17:00）で関電トンネルトロリーバスか立山黒部アルペンルート乗車券提示でもらえる。
